Managing Director
Alex joined in November 2016 as our Finance Manager she works within the public and private sectors where she is responsible for providing financial advice and many other roles.

“My favourite hobbies are running, and tasting wine!”

“I fearlessly jumped out of a plane in 2005 but I am now very scared of heights, so I won’t be doing it again in a hurry.”

Alex Barry
Finance Manager
Julie joined us in August 2013 she provides Admin Support to the company and now also manages our custom cover orders.
What is your favourite hobby?
“I have two hobbies that I love and it is hard to choose between the two. I attend a local dance school and take part in their annual dance show, take exams and dance just for fun. Types of dance I do are disco, street and tap. I also go to Body combat which I love to exercise and keep a good level of fitness.”

“I love working at Vortex as we have a good team of friendly people who all work together to keep the company running smoothly and make it enjoyable to come to work. Every day is different and I enjoy interacting with customers.”

“I used to be a backing singer for an Elvis impersonator.”

Julie Baldock
HR & Accounts Administrator
Armando joined our team in July 2015 to replace Benoit's role. Armando speaks fluent Spanish, French and English and is a great asset to our foreign sales.

“My favourite hobby is skiing, I am very passionate about it and I love it!”

“I know it probably sounds weird, but I love coming to work – I find it a challenge to improve sales day-by-day and feel very happy when customers leave satisfied.”

“I have a big phobia of sharks, I cannot even close my eyes in a swimming pool for fear of them!”

Armando Jordan
General Manager
Andy has been with us since September 2016 he provides a point of contact with our customers, answers queries and provides technical advice.

“My favourite hobby is general fitness; cycling, training in the gym, running. Even more than that, as you can probably tell, I love having my photo taken.”
What do you love about your job?
“I really enjoy dealing with my customers, with my background being on the road as a sales engineer I get what they’re up against. Also, that I am constantly learning, I’d get bored to death if it was simple!”
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
“My biggest passion is actually Lindy Hop (partnered swing) dancing, for 5 years or so I’ve been travelling to different countries and events to do as much of it as possible.”

Alex started in March 2013 to oversee presence and management of our website. He also provides photography, IT and marketing support for the business.

“I have several hobbies, but skydiving will come first every time! From the people you meet to the feeling you get on the plane when you’re climbing for the first jump of the day – there’s nothing quite like it.”

“It’s hard for me to pick a specific thing I love about my job; every aspect is fun for me. The regular doughnuts probably tip it for me though.”

“I love to drive and travel, I have so far had road trips to; Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France and Iceland.”
