Ceramic and Viton parts meet to create a spring-loaded seal. It is recommended to use a small amount of silicone grease to fix the metal base against the plastic housing. The rubber washer ensures water-tightness against the plastic housing.
This seal kit will not fit LX pumps made prior to 2008.
